Kdr knockout led to mild pulmonary hypertension under normoxia that worsened under hypoxia. Kdr knockout mice had significant increase in pulmonary arterial wall thickness, muscularization, and VEGFR-3+ endothelial cells obliterating the pulmonary artery vessel lumen.
